Part 3: Office attire… fun summer wardrobe. They CAN co-exist.

For part 3 of our series, we’re going to look at the outfit on the third model from the original segment we did on Breakfast Television. It’s time to look at those neon yellow, printed pants! Model #3: Michelle Why I love this look: Jacket: This brown, soft-suede jacket is perfect for a casual summer office look (especially if you’re in the type of office where you still need to cover your shoulders and arms).  The vertical layering around the front makes this jacket so much more stylish and fun.  Since it is a casual and versatile piece, it will also look great paired with dark-wash jeans or even a fitted skirt. Blouse: This blouse has two amazing layers.  The layer underneath is soft and light but it also has some fun “sparkle” detailing all across the front.  The top layer does a great job of muting the shiny undertone so that it can be worn during the day. Pants: I just love these neon yellow, printed pants!  They are a great, bright alternative for those summer days at the office; you’ll surely turn heads in these tapered lovelies.  You’ll also notice that most other pieces of this outfit have been kept neutral so that the focus can be on the pant.  That’s the key to wearing that one bright piece that you love! Shoes:  Again, since there is some different colour and texture combinations in this outfit, we`ve kept Michelle`s shoe to a neutral, pointed, kitten heel. Accessories: For jewellery, all that Michelle is wearing is a teardrop-shaped silver earring.  By keeping her hair swept to the side, and off her face, we are able to highlight this sole accessory. Hope you`ve enjoyed the run-down of each outfit from our Breakfast Television segment. Thanks to House of Tin Salon and Makeup by Bean for the lovely office-appropriate hair and makeup. For this segment, L2 Style showcased clothing from Thread Hill and shoes from Sole Revival.

PART 2: Office attire… fun summer wardrobe. They CAN co-exist.

Last week, I shared a segment I did on Breakfast Television .  In case you forgot, I talked about keeping your office attire appropriate, fun, and – always – stylish for summer. I shared some photos of my first model and gave some additional style tips on this outfit. Today, let’s look at the second outfit I showcased on the segment. Model #2: Kristin Why I love this look: Dress: This printed silk dress is AMAZING for summer! It shows off the right amount of arm (no spaghetti straps here), is an appropriate length for work, is light andsumemry, and will turn heads as you walk down the hallway.  I paired it with a skinny, metallic belt to define our model’s waistline.  By placing the belt a bit higher on Kristin’s natural waistline, we’re creating the illusion of a longer, leaner leg. Shoes: With this entire outfit, you can see how it’s possible to wear a lot of colour – including your shoes – without looking ridiculous.  This is a great peep-toe pump for summer and will look fab paired with several different outfits. Accessories: Since this dress is quite colourful, I’ve added delicate, silver and gold bracelets and earrings.  I love mixing these different tones together; it looks great paired with her dress. Thanks to House of Tin Salon and Makeup by Bean for the lovely office-appropriate hair and makeup. Stay tuned for a run-down of model #3…. For this segment, L2 Style showcased clothing from Thread Hill and shoes from Sole Revival.

PART 1: Office attire… fun summer wardrobe. They CAN co-exist.

For most of you, your office dress-code is a bit more relaxed during those warm summer months.  Now, relaxed doesn’t mean that it’s ok to wear your short shorts, flip flops, or spaghetti-strap tank top to work…. you ARE still at work! You most definitely can (and should) have fun and be stylish with your summer office attire! During my most recent style segment on Breakfast Television, I talked about how to keep your wardrobe appropriate for the office while being stylish, trendy, and (of course) summer-appropriate! If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to shed the pantyhose and inject some colour, pattern, and texture into your summer office attire. Here’s the first of three outfits I showcased on the recent style segment. Model #1: Karen Why I love this look: Skirt: I love this shade of green for our model and I love the sheen of the fabric.  For ladies who are tall like Karen, this is as short as you’ll want to go with your professional skirts (a couple of inches above the knee). Blouse: Rather than pair it with a plain, boring blouse or top, it’s been paired with a light, summery tank with a lovely, soft print.  The small “v” at the neckline gives it almost a t-shirt like quality…. which I really like. Jacket: now this blazer is quite a sassy little number.  Since there is a lot of structure and tailoring, it is very flattering along the waistline.  If this is too much for you, swap it out for a cream blazer with more of a classic style.  There’s nothing wrong with that.  A quick note – when shopping for this type of ultra-fitted blazer/jacket, you’ll need to look for one that is 1-2 sizes above what you would normally wear. Shoes: this stacked wooden heel is a great alternative to a conventional pump.  It’s fun for summer and makes the whole outfit a bit more relaxed.  If you’re looking for go a bit more office formal though, add a nude pump; the look of the whole outfit will be totally different. Accessories: there’s a lot going on in this outfit so all I’ve added a small, simple earring. Thanks to House of Tin Salon and Makeup by Bean for the lovely office-appropriate hair and makeup. Stay tuned for a run-down of model #2…. For this segment, L2 Style showcased clothing from Thread Hill and shoes from Sole Revival.
