Part 2: Winter to spring… wait, it’s still cold outside!

In Part 1, I showed you a casual look that has a spring-like flare while being warm and cozy… for those last few days of winter (hopefully)! This is all from a style segment I recently did on Breakfast Television.

Today, I want to do a breakdown of the second winter-to-spring look.  For those of you who like to mix and match different styles, you’re going to love this outfit.

Why this works:

  • This is a stunning floral, silk dress that has many rich, vibrant colours – it’s the perfect transition piece for spring.
  • The baby blue suede jacket is the nice balance between edgy and sweet… it’s an unconventional garment for work.  Now, not everyone can pull off this outfit for the office.  If the jacket is too much for your work environment, feel free to swap it out for a more traditional looking blazer/jacket.  I’d keep the baby blue though.  It’s a great nod to spring while keeping you warm until it’s time to toss the jacket aside.
  • I love her hair – a fun, fresh look for the new season.  Her lip colour is a great complement to the deep blue shades in this dress.

Go ahead and dress this up with a dressier shoe and belt.  I chose to dress it down with a braided belt and nude, matte shoe with a dark wooden heel.

Stay tuned for Part 3 of this style segment… I’ll be posting it in a few days.
